Charlie's Cottage is a mid-terrace, Grade-II* listed timber-framed black and white property (approx. 350-years old). It has been sympathetically restored to maintain it's abundance of wonderful historical character.

The front door leads into the cosy sitting room which has a lovely, cushioned window seat – a perfect spot to sit and read the paper or watch the world go by.  The Georgian oak table seats 3 comfortably.  There is wooden flooring throughout the ground floor, a three-seater sofa, occasional armchair, Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, free Wi-Fi and broadband and USB charger sockets fitted in every room (ex. the bathroom).  For the cooler nights there is wood-burning effect electric fire and all rooms have radiators.  All rooms (bar the single bedroom) have original oak beams.

The sitting room leads onto a well-equipped shaker-style kitchen with ceramic hob, built in single oven, extractor hood, under-counter SMEG fridge (with ice box), built-in dishwasher and top of the range appliances – kettle, toaster, microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine.  There is a selection of glassware, crockery, Vera Wang cutlery, cookware and good quality saucepans. An iron and ironing board is available in the kitchen pantry, together with a mini freezer. (Sorry, no washing machine).

The quirky oak stairs lead off from the sitting room to the first floor (the stairs are relatively steep and narrow with two turns, so may not be suitable for the elderly or those with mobility difficulties)There are two attractively furnished bedrooms – one king sized bed (5ft wide, with king sized pillows) and one single bed. Both have sprung mattresses and 100% cotton bedding and feather and down pillows and duvets for ultimate comfort and luxury, plus additional blankets, throws, hot water bottles and anti-allergy pillows located in the airing cupboard. Each bedroom has its own hairdryer too, so no need to pack your own. Both bedrooms have "wall" hanging space, with the addition of a large chest of drawers in the main bedroom and a wooden double valet stand.  The single room has a small chest of drawers and two large concealed drawers which are built into the bed for additional storage space.  Both bedrooms have a wall-mounted Smart TV.

There are towels in each bedroom and a hand towel in the bathroom which consists of a large walk-in shower with rainfall shower head, toilet, a beautiful traditional freestanding vanity unit with a large mirror, shaving mirror, double shaving socket (located on the inside right of the vanity unit) and a wall mounted heated towel rail.

To the rear of the holiday cottage is a small pretty enclosed courtyard garden with bistro table and chairs and garden lighting. It's the perfect spot for alfresco dining if the weather permits, or board games or the TV inside if it doesn’t!  Short stays all year-round welcome – minimum stay 3 nights.

Charlie's Cottage unique touches of comfort and luxury make it a genuine home from home.

Sorry, no smoking permitted (including vapour/e-cigarettes) and regrettably no children under the age of 10-years, and no pets.
